The decision that changed my life.

I’ve been pondering the idea of writing a blog for quite some time, but I’ve never known what to write about. Then suddenly, I was presented with an idea.
On Monday, February 25th, I was sitting on a plane next to my significant other, Christopher, waiting for take off. In Upstate New York, it isn’t uncommon for snow storms and freezing conditions. However, on that day, we were asked to unboard the plane because it was too windy for the plane to be deiced. Our flight had been delayed until further notice.
Back Story: Christopher has been applying to law schools and anticipating going to law school since I’ve known him. We were on a plane to go to Oregon to visit his top choice school.
After unboarding we hopped in line to speak to a desk agent because we were going to miss our connecting flight and wanted to know what our options were. We got to the desk and Jenna informed us that there were no other connections to Oregon for the day. It was 5:30am. Our trip was a total of 3 nights. We would miss one of those nights because of this flight issue. So lovely Jenna, she really was so helpful, gave us a refund and we went home.
We took it as a sign. We weren’t supposed to go to Oregon and we weren’t that upset about it. We felt good taking the refund and going home. But why?
We were on a path that wasn’t meant for us. Christopher knew law school wasn’t his passion, but was holding himself to standards he set for himself as a middle schooler. I was applying to jobs in Oregon just to get by, likely that I would be miserable working in. In one short decision our whole lives had changed.
